CONTENT PRODUCER

The Content Producers will be the primary producers of content, both original and aggregated content for our properties or sites. This person will work to engage and grow online audiences through a variety of compelling content. This person may co-author newsletter stories for targeted communities; daily, he/she will aggregate various stories from partner publishers, as well as regularly produce original content.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • At least 2 – 3 years of experience writing and/or aggregating content for a media site.
  • Strong writing and content curation skills.
  • Intellectual curiosity and desire to learn new storytelling tactics and skills, including potentially doing your own content production.
  • Passion for Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or YouTube, including a demonstrated familiarity of writing for social media platforms.
  • Strong project and time management skills.
  • Ability to author compelling original content while also reacting to breaking news and other trending stories.
  • Comfort with a fast-paced and constantly changing work environment and ability to perform within it.

EDITOR

A new digital media outlet is hiring Editorial Directors to launch and run a variety of content properties. This is a unique opportunity to help build a digital-first content team from the ground up. The ideal candidate will have experience hiring and managing content producers, planning coverage and editing copy, but with an appreciation of start-up culture and an ability to plan for growth. This is the top content role, reporting to our Publisher. The ED will work collaboratively to guide and support his/her vertical teams. In our start-up days, this will be a daily hands-on role as we build our properties. Over time, it will be focused on strategic and editorial guidance, content calendar planning, and innovative ideas to inspire and compel readers.

Qualifications and Requirements:

DIGITAL STRATEGIST

You will support the content production team in all aspects of digital distribution and promotion.  This includes media planning, ad operations, and organic growth hacking.  As a start-up, this also entails helping set-up digital processes and systems, researching and briefing the team on digital trends, and helping to build reporting dashboards. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced media startup, a campaign, or a Capitol Hill office. A successful candidate will be able to multitask between operational support and project-based work, as well as demonstrate a keen interest in current events and digital media.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 1 to 2 years of experience in digital media, including growing and sustaining an engaged social media following and working in Facebook Ad Manager / Business Manager
  • Experience using paid media strategies across social platforms to expand reach of audience and deepen engagement of content 
  • Quick learner of new technologies, tools, and processes; ability to adapt 
  • Strong working knowledge of entire Microsoft Office, especially Excel and comparable Google platforms, including Sheets and Data Studio
  • Excellent time management, as well as oral and written communication skills, combined with strong attention to detail, organization, and collaborative attitude
  • Experience with producing social media static, gif and/or video content and Adobe Photoshop proficiency is preferred.

DIGITAL ADVERTISING MANAGER

Consensus is seeking a Digital Advertising Manager with at least 1 or more years of digital advertising experience such as ad operations, media planning and/or media buying. This person will be responsible for managing all advertising activity for a minimum of 2 Consensus Digital Media properties, with an opportunity to take on more as experience and interest allows. The ideal candidate will work with digital strategists, content producers and data scientists to create scroll-stopping campaigns designed to maximize readership, social media following and reader affinity for their assigned properties.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 1 or more years hands-on experience with a major ad platform such as Facebook Ads Manager, Twitter Ads, Google Ads, etc
  • Knowledge of media/campaign planning and budgeting
  • Experience building detailed campaign reports using a tool such as Google Sheets, Excel or Google Data Studios
  • Deep understanding of audience targeting capabilities including tools and vendors
  • Ability to track, manage and report on budgets at every level from daily to yearly

Your Role

Consensus Digital Media is hiring a Digital Video Producer / Editor to support a thriving start-up digital-first content team. The ideal candidate will have an appreciation of start-up culture and an ability to plan for growth, with experience in the full spectrum of video media production from development to post-production, including project organization, lighting, sound, camera operation, editing, color grading, audio mixing, effects, graphics, basic animation, encoding and delivery. In our start-up days, this will be a daily hands-on role with hours varying weekly as we build our properties. Over time, a regular content production and post-production schedule will be established, requiring quick turnarounds within a set framework and workflow.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Respond to a vibrant content team’s regularly changing video editing needs ranging from production to post.
  • Bring and build on innovative video content approaches and thinking, with a strong grasp of narrative as it works in visual media.
